Meet the Team
at House of Beauty
Full-time Senior Beauty TherapistSophie, who we affectionately call ‘Sassy Soph’, finished her NVQ3 qualifications and gained experience in Thermae Bath Spa and Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa before joining House of Beauty in 2016. She is ESPA & ENVIRON trained, specialises in intimate waxing and has a passion for introducing clients to the Jane Iredale Skincare Makeup range. When Sophie is not planning her next holiday, she loves to keep fit or spend time with her pet dog Benji, family and friends.
Part-time Senior Beauty TherapistOur ‘Welsh Lovely’ joined House of Beauty in 2018 after relocating to Chippenham from Penarth. Her vast experience took her on-board cruise ships for 2 years as a beauty therapist, then returning to the UK Carys gained further experience as an IPL (laser hair removal) specialist. She has worked at top Spa’s and enjoyed 7 years with a Beauty Salon similar to House of Beauty in Wales where she worked with various top skin care brands. We love to learn a little Welsh from Carys and her days always start with ‘bore da’ (welsh for good morning), she enjoys spending her days off with family and her pet cat Steve.
Receptionist and Salon Coordinator
Emily is the first face of the HOB team that you will meet, as she runs our front of house and coordinates the smooth running of the House of Beauty team.
Emily is a true dog lover and loves spending her days off on long walks with her husband and Luna, her Rhodesian Ridgeback. She has a passion for Beauty and Makeup and did her NVQ Beauty some years ago and if you need saving, she is a fully trained lifeguard, so the team know if they have a trip to the beach, they will be safe hands with Emily around!
Emily is Wendy’s coffee partner in the mornings, always first in setting up before the team arrive and last to leave, ensuring the salon is ready for the following day. She will look after you from the time you walk in, to the time you rebook to return for your next visit, and you will always know her on the phone as she hasn’t lost her beautiful Lancashire accent.
OwnerWendy has worked in the Beauty Industry for over 25 years and started on the Makeup side of the business, she completed a course in acrylic nails whilst living in Washington DC for a year and when she teamed Acrylic Nails and Wedding Makeovers Nails & Veils Ltd was born. Wendy worked from home for 5 years before her first salon opened in 2001, she trained and employed a couple of nail technicians and the business started to grow. When House of Beauty opened its doors in 2007 Wendy went back to collage every Sunday for a year to gain her NVQ and is now trained in many top skin care bands alongside of ESPA, ENVIRON and Jane Iredale. She also specialises in Permanent Makeup that runs alongside of House of Beauty to enhance what the salon offers. Wendy loves to keep fit and runs regularly, she enjoys her garden apart from when her dog digs it up, but her biggest passion is House of Beauty and the team that support her.
OwnerNigel has so much experience in his specialised profession it’s hard to know where to start. He qualified with a Masters in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy in 1994 and is a member of the IIST (International Institute of Sports Therapy), from there he decide to work abroad on cruise ships in the Caribbean for a couple of years…his favourite place, he also spent time in Miami working as a Sports Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer. When he returned to the UK he gained the rewarding position in a Physio Clinic specialising in the rehabilitation for adults with learning disabilities, this led to further Sports Massage work and Nigel started his own business working for private clients. Nigel now co-owns and works exclusively at House of Beauty and specialises in Sports Massage Therapy, Le Stone Hot Stone Massage and Aromatherapy. In his spare time he loves Yoga, walking his dog Arthur and anything to do with the Caribbean.
